What is counselling?
For me counselling about helping people fix broken relationships. Reconnecting us with others, helping us to resolve past and present difficulties.
Counselling provides a special space where people can feel safe about talking through their problems in confidence, knowing that the time is exclusively dedicated to their needs. In counselling, a totally non-judgemental atmosphere is set up, so whatever background the person comes from or whatever isssues a client brings, we aim to find a way to help them.
People can have problems relating back to their childhood, and as such we will utilise many of the recent counselling theories, however they also have problems in the here and now and deserve the respect to accept that that is the case. To this end many of the philosophers over the last few thousand years have a great deal to say about how to live our lives today.
Using skills form various areas such as hypnotherapy and coaching alongside counselling, Damian is able to help you better understand where the issues have a risen and how to reduce, or eliminate, their impact. Allowing you to get on with your life how you want to live it – not how anyone else wishes you to.
Most work is based on dealing with one to one situations with individuals from all different walks of life. The common factor is that they are not diseased but rather dis-eased. Some people come into the practice in an extremely upset and confused state, looking for help and guidance. Others simply come along to work through some issues in their life, work problems, decision making issues, relationships issues that they wish to reflect upon with an independent non- judgemental specialist.
I offer a completely integrated support service for you; from the time you contact me until your difficulties are resolved, or, your targets are achieved.
